Memo Button not changing categories

I noticed today that multiple presses of my memo pad button is not changing categories. The other buttons are working fine... Any ideas?
I disabled all hacks and have performed a soft and warm reset...

jeesh...

I went in to preferences.. yes memo pad was selected.. I re-selected it and now it works...
