Question What's up with Innopocket?

Does anybody know what Innopocket's status is? I ordered a FlashPlus adapter through Matchbook on Jan 29 (unfortunately, this caused me to miss out on their remaining supplies of the adapter by a day), and my order has been pending for over two months. The reasons Innopocket has given for the delay are numerous, beginning with a factory shutdown for the Chinese new year, and running into a batch of faulty adapters in the process.

I'm very curious to know exactly what is going on with the company -- have they gone under and are pretending that they haven't? Or have they merely encountered a very large string of bad luck?

I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I've been giving that to them for over two months, and, frankly, this many excuses is starting to sound like the boy who cried "wolf".

Chris.

I called MatchbookDrive last week and spoke to the head honcho. (To my embarassment, I cannot recall his name!)

The problem seems to be that they are using a new factory overseas for the chip and there are some major quality control issues. One of those "Ha, we have it licked... no we don't... yes we do... well, I guess we don't" kind of things that seem to plague this field so much anytime there is a change.

He expected a call last Tuesday to clear things up and said he would answer the back-log of e-mails and backorders, and update the site when he knew something.

He seemed mildly depressed over it all. I guess this has been going on for a couple months now, and is really hurting him.

Personally, I am going back to FlashPlus and CF cards after my flirtation with the MemPlug and SmartMedia.

I like the fact that the FlashPlus sits perfectly flush (the SM MemPlug does not), that CF is faster, etc.

As far as MemPlug vs. FlashPlus- I do not use the built-in viewers, and I sort of like the FlashAdapter (FA) software better than the PI versions- especially the way CSpotRun works. Also, the FlashPlus can be obtained by PayPal

I have liked these guys since my first long CF adaptor- them and Kopsis have always been great to work with and I am going back (as soon as the FlashPluses come in!)

Cool

Yes, I couldn't live without my InnoPocket FlashPlus and a 256 meg SanDisk CF card.

I use the rock solid Kopsis software, and PowerRun. It hasn't given me a moment of trouble since I got it about a year ago.

On my CF card, I have tons of applications, loads of pictures, and 270+ novels. And I haven't half filled the card yet.
