Sprint PCS Wireless Web Digital Link

Hello, everyone. I just called in and talk to one of the SprintPCS customer service rep about this issue yesterday. They told me that I were mis-informed about this product and he told me this product doesn't have 3G technology at all (they claim they never mentioned it in the product specification), but I did find this module under 3GToday.com saying it is 3G compatable.

I guess SprintPCS just don't want to deal with the update issue and they are now trying to trash all of the remaining units -- by giving away for FREE. I am just really upset about the fact I just purchased it about 5 months ago both my Visor Prism and Web Digital Link (spent over $600). I told them if they really did say that this unit is not 3G compatable at the first place, I wouldn't even bother to purchase both the Web Digital Link and Visor Prism. I purchased it instead of "Visor Phone" (FREE at the time I made my purchase) is because of the potential 3G update that they promised.

I have heard come of you say that they claim they did upgrade to 3G, but only on the voice part. How? The voice part of this unit is even worse than the regular cell phone. I believe the main reason for everyone of us to buy this unit is the "DATA" part, just like the name -- "Sprint PCS Wireless Web Digital Link". With the price we all paid at that time, this product is totally not worth for the money if they did not implement the 3G technology.

The price we paid $249 is only the Sprintboard module, total together with Visor Handheld, it is really pricy!! With that money, I would rather spend it on a Pocket PC instead.

I hope all of us can come together to talk to them about this issue together because we may benefit more But if we work hard enough, we may get them to refund the price we purchased and maybe some money for the handheld!

Thanks for your time,
Daniel Chen

$250 rebate for DL owners

It has been stated in another thread that Sprint PCS is crediting the original owners of the DL module with $250 credit. This can be used toward a purchase of a new phone. Several users reported getting credited...

Cool Sprint Dig link

I bought mine last year too. Now I did get my 250.00 credit from Sprint and I got a Color PCS Vision phone and USB cable so I can hook it to my laptop and surf the web too. I wish they would have come up with the software but I guess with Handspring getting out of the PDA business and concentrating on the PDA/Communicator business, that didn't help things either. Personally I still use my Prism with the DL and I really like it. Using the DL and Wireless Web works fine for my needs right now. I compared speed on Wireless Web and the PCS Vision and Vision is just a little bit faster. Oh well.......
