Question

I thought it would be interesting to find out how many people own more than one Visor. Did you become a multiple owner due to a shipping error? Or are you a gadget freak and like collecting? Couldn't decide on a color, so you ordered more than one?

I ordered a Graphite Deluxe on 12/02/99 and wasn't expecting it until sometime in 01/00. So I bought a New In Box (NIB) Orange one off of eBay. The Orange color had to grow on me, because I'm usually kinda conservative. But now I really like the color. Well the Graphite came 12/27. It's still sealed in box. I thought I might sell it, but since Handspring's shipping time seems to have decreased to within 2 weeks, I guess most people would probably be ordering directly from them. So... I guess I'll keep it to use to demonstrate with clients the functionality between Visors and among other Palm devices.

Anyway, what's your story?

I bought 2 but only one is for me the other is hers.
If I were in your possition, and I needed to depend on my visor vor vital info for my work (like I do), than I would keep both.
It really isn't alot of money and if you ever drop or break one you can quickly be back in business with the spare until the other is repaired.
This is just my opinion. Oh the other thing you cal do also is use it as a gift for you wife, or g/f. Who knows maybe she will want to show her appreciation .

I bought two...

I originally bought a BVD with the intention of handing my Sharp Wizard down to my wife.

As time passed, I decided I'd really like to have Orange instead, but there was no way to find the status of my order - let alone change the color. So, I ordered an Orange and figured I could return the Blue.

As luck would have it, my Wizard started showing some problems from having been dropped one too many times, so I just gave the BVD to my wife and kept the orange for myself.

I've purchased three, currently own two.

I was a "first day order" of an orange VDx. When it finally arrived, "years" later, I was stymied on how to get all the data from my Palm IIIx into the Visor. I'd ordered a serial cradle, and that took even longer to arrive than did the Visor.

A friend at work was looking to purchase a Visor for her husband (for Xmas), so I sold her my orange VDx. It had almost no "on time" and was in pristine condition.

Two days after I sold the Visor to her, the serial cradle showed up.

Through a cascading series of purchases, I ended up committing myself to buying a Graphite VDx from a guy (at work) who'd ordered one from Handspring and then gotten another one (in hand) from a guy (at work) who'd purchased one from Handspring and then got one practically by accident by someone.... and so on.

Anyway, since it started to look like the order for that Visor was probably lost, I purchased another through a posting here on visorcentral.com. That was kind of an accident too, but the original purchaser decided not to buy, so I ended up with the nod for the Visor.

So, now I have two VDx's, both graphite, and two serial cradles. I'm keeping them both. I use one for my day to day activities. I'll use the other for a development machine.

Life is good. <g>

I ordered my BVD on Oct 15 and another Graphite VD for my wife on Nov 5th. We got both of them within 5 weeks of placing the order.

I love mine but I was really unsure about my wife's Visor. She's pretty much a technophobe. We she opened her Christmas gift she had this "I'm not going to scream" smile plastered on her face. Seriously tense moment.

Now, just a couple of weeks later, she absolutly loves it. She's got all her phone numbers for friends, family, vendors, clients etc. in one place. She's using DateBook+ multiple times a day as well as the Memo and todo list. THe Expense program is invaluable to her even though it's not very well supported on her Mac. We hot synch to my PC and port the expenses into Excel.

So we're a 2 Visor family now. And it's really worked out well.

Thumbs up

Howdy Folks!

We are a one visor family ... RIGHT NOW.
BUT
My wife really, REALLY, wants one bad.
So we will probably be a multi-visor family before long!

They should come out with a special Pikachu edition!

Gotta catch 'em all!

Back in September, I was about to buy a Palm V, but realized I could buy 2 Visors for nearly the same price. . . so I did; one for me and one for my wife. Obviously, no regrets whatsoever.

Cool

We are a two Visor family as well. I ordered a blue one a day or two after Handspring opened for business, and my wife became convinced of her own need for a Visor while I was waiting for mine. Being a nice guy, I ordered her a green one about a month after I ordered mine. Curses, hers got here a day before mine.

Anyway, having two of them is great. We don't synch them on the same computer, but we are often beaming important info back and forth. I would advise any busy family to buy as many Visors as there are potential Visor users in the family. The things just aren't that expensive, and are very handy.

I ordered 2 standard Visors and one blue deluxe on 11/15/99, they arrived in the US on 12/17/99 and were sent to me in Germany. Finally received them yesterday, on 01/7/00. I was surprised how fast the HotSyc stuff was set up. I plugged the cradle in to my iMac, installed the app and hotsynced. Wow!
So now you might wonder why I bought three... Well, I took the deluxe (gonna load some apps I guess ), my father uses a standard one and Im offering the other one on eBay. Hope I get a good offer, since theyre not available yet here.

My BVD has a bad print of the Handspring logo in the upper left corner (its not right on top of the metal). Anyone else got that? Its not bad, just a minor thing.
