Question

Hi everyone...

Is it possible to use the USB cradle with my VISOR, have RAS services on my PC and use the PC as a "proxy" type of connection to get to the Net ?

Thanks all in advance...

I have not found a way with any operating system other than Linux, and I still couldn't get that to work.

The reason for this being that all the windows software uses serial ports to do TCP/IP connections to the handheld, (COM1-4). Unless they change the software, or come up with a serial port emulator for USB devices, we're out of luck.

It works in linux because linux DOES see the USB port as a highspeed serial.

and by the way... a lot of people ask "why would you want to do that anyway?" well... I don't know about you guys, but I enjoy linux and the palm, etc because I like the challenge of getting things like that to work. true, it's not all that practical, but it's fun to try

Have anybody done RAS between Prism and NT4.0 or W2K over direct serial connect?
