Cool

I must admint, it was a very anxious 7 weeks, I still have a complaint or two about the service.

However, the product is BEYOND expectations. I've had a Palm Pro on perma-loan for some time now, and was ver excited when the Visor was announced. My first day has proven it was with a worthwile wait. The case is solid. The screen, perfect. Backlighting adequate. Stylus is good. IR is great (20' and going)! Speed of the USB is amazing. Tactile feel of buttons is wonderful! Slipcase is well designed, cover is as well. ICE is the way to go for the "cat" looking to be "cool". All applications work well, no malfunctions at all.

I owe it to Handspring at this point on their product. I'm VERY excited about the Springboards coming soon, and will be sucking the life out of my credit cards as soon as the GPS and 6-pack march out.

Until then, I am very happy. I need stylii, I wonder if the bogus sales tax I was charged could be used for that.

Thumbs up

Yea! I am still anxiously awaiting mine, but is has only been about 3 weeks. I am glad to see the positive posts about the product. Anyone who has been involved with a new product launch (especially a great one like Visor) knows that they all cause huge headaches, and it is far more complicated when you have a new product, a new company, a new customer service group, a new web site . . . Handspring could have postponed everything, but then we would be reading the same number of posts about "Handspring's sucky performance" about "Delays". I predict that in 6 months, there won't be any of these startup problems. Ahh, but I digress!

I agree, the GPS and the 6-pack are must haves!

Ah - Another Austinite geek with a new toy. I just received mine on Monday (ordered on 9/14), and like you, I love it. This is my first PDA, so I'm still learning about its myriad uses. Living in Austin (for those of you who don't know - this is a town largely populated by geeks like myself), everytime I go to the grocery store or anywhere else with it, I expect someone to say "Hey! Is that one of those new Visor things!? Cool!!" Noone yet, but I've only been out with it twice.

So, those of you who have been letting all of those negative reports get you down, take heart. You can bet that for every one negative report you hear, thare are many positive reports. Very few people who receive their Visors and have no problems with them are going to hop on to this site and say "Hey - Got my Visor. No problems." MOST people who get theirs and do have problems with it are going to get on this site instantly and rant about it.

So, I'll be one of the few - Got mine. No problems. Everything's working great. Get one.
