OK, I thought I had my problems taken care of, but I guess not.

I would like to hear from anyone else who's gotten their Visor to successfully sync to a Mac. I've got a Visor Deluxe and a G4 Macintosh--I got them to sync once but now I get nothing. I've tried multiple HotSync settings, reinstalling the software a number of times, and different USB ports but as it stands now I'm kind of stuck--any help?

thanks,
Aaron.

Have you soft-reset your Visor?

My first Visor Deluxe "died" about 5 days after I received it (unable to hotsync, fatal errors on opening applications). I received my replacement unit on Monday and it has been working well so far. However I cannot say the same for the synchronization process. It takes about 5 minutes(!!!) for exchange of data to start, and once the two devices (iMac and Visor, USB) have "recognized" each other the sync zips along. I am concerned about the delay since this was the exact symptom my first visor experienced before it "died".
Any thoughts/suggestions/ideas?
Thank you

PS: Perfoming a soft reset has not helped this problem

asumner,
Make sure that Appletalk is inactive before you enabled the hotsync manager..also check the extensions and make sure that they are there..

Red face

doing IR synching with the IRlink kills my palm. I have never been able to do a soft reset, hard resets are the only way I can get it back in operation. Now I have a common problem - at boot a dot in the upper-left corner that just keeps flashing... this is no fun.

What wound up working for me was restarting my Mac about a dozen times or so, and finally the USB device was recognized. I don't know why it took so long to finally take, but it did and now I can Hotsync just fine.

Does anyone know a good utility for scanning devices on the USB chain, a la SCSI Probe?
