Red face

Hi, I'm trying to get LinkUSB working with my windows machine in order to use the net on my Handspring with my USB cradle.

It says you need a PPP server on the box you connect it to, but I do not know of any for Win 9x.

Anyone know of one?

No, sorry. I was looking for such a thing a month or so ago. There is a PPP deamon for Linux, but I haven't found one for Win95/98 yet. If you find something out, please let us know!

There is a PP server for Windows called MochaSoft MochaPPP W32. However, it only works over serial ports, not USB :-( There exact statement is:

There is no support for Handspring Visor with or without the USB craddle. At the moment we cannot tell if it will be possible in a later release of our product.

Perhaps I'll install Linux just for this. I can't beleieve this is so impossible to do over USB in Windows.

Cool

You are right. I should have been more precise - of course there is/are PPP deamon programs for Win95/98, but only for serial connections Palm/Visor - PC.
I haven't found a program that works with USB yet.

But I think I am going to do the same thing you have in mind ... install Linux on my Computer (actually I already have it running) and then set up the PPP deamon stuff. It would be great if you could keep me/us posted regarding you experiences - of course, I will do the same (But it will take a couple of weeks before I can work with my computer again, currently I have to move etc. and this will take some time).

Later,

mc9
