As you can tell, I am not the lucky owner of one VDX. It took a bit longer than I would have liked, but what can you expect living overseas and dealing with two post systems. I'm new at these so it's a learning experience. Just want to thank everyone for all the great info. First thing I did was install a screen protector (homemade from overhead sheet) to protect myself from scratches. Now to start the leaning process.
Keep the good ideas coming.

Be sure to turn off the "Beam Receive" in the Prefs application if you are not using the I/R port. This will improve battery life.

Yep, did that. Now a question. Isn't the VDX supposed to ship with ver 3.1h software. When I went to the basic page (not sure what it's called, where you have all the icons) and went to the optons/about applications it said v. 3.0.1h.
Is it mislabled?
I think I read something about this earlier, but not sure
