GSM phone plus GPS receiver discovered

Hi Guys,

look what I found:
I just found the following combined module which was announced 4 days ago on the Systems in Munich. This sounds pretty interesting - http://www.egeo.ag/
Go to the PRODUCT section.

Seems like this is the product we all waited for or is it just an adoption of the Geode?!

Take care
Chris

Looks good, a bit big though.

I also would be happy with a price.

I just gave them a call and they said that it is sold only with the Visor Pro at the moment for 2500 ,-- German Marks which will be about 1170 USD tax included.

The module itself without the Visor will be available in the first quarter of 2002 - no price yet. Hmmm well I think they will release it a bit earlier becuase who wants to spend such an amount on both?

I think this one is dual mode for 900/1800 which would imply no support in the U.S. which is 1900

You are right on this one - I was also told that they are planning a worldwide modul - which would mean 900/1900.
I think we have to wait till the final version will be released. Let's keep an eye on it.

Thumbs up This is sweet...

I hope it becomes available in the U.S. soon.

I've actually been wondering if anyone was ever going to attempt to make a 2-3 port springboard adapter so you could use more than one module at a time (like having a phone and extra memory).

The fusion module combines all of the best features: phone, GPS, memory expansion, plus SD module expansion. This would be perfect with a 128-meg memory upgrade and a bluetooth SD module, then add a bluetooth headset.

I WANT IT!! I WANT IT NOW!!!

Read this in morning in a German newspaper that Cingular is setting up a GSM-Net thru the whole US. Looks like you will get the european standard soon.
