I've noticed that Beyond.com is advertising a $100 manufacturer's rebate on the Palm V. If that is the case, a Palm V can now be had for $239 (check out shopper.com). I haven't found any other information regarding the rebate, does anyone have any info on this? Is this 3Com's first reactive move against Handspring?
It is probably because they are dumping the current models before they start shipping the Palm Vx. (Same as a Palm V, but with 8 meg.)

I'd say its more because they are coming out with the Palm Vx that has more memory. Maybe they are trying to keep interest in the V and sell as many as possible before coming out with the Vx...

is this fer real?
can you get a 100$ rebate on any palm5 or just that one from beyond.com?
if so; i'd gladly pay LESS for a 2mb non springboard 1/2 as thick rechargeable palm V than for the Visor deluxe.
I can go for the sleek look instead of the cool one :-)
Thats not even mentioning the springboard which isn't much of a point at this time because there aren't that many of them yet, but hopefully will be...
If you want to save money then get a Visor, if you want the Palm V look then wait for the Vx next month...
If you read it completely it says that the rebate is only available through beyond.com and the palm v has to be purchased from beyond.com. So, $299 is the lowest price right now.
For other good deals on pdas and other items check out www.accompany.com . Very cool concept that uses the buying power of a quantity of buyers to lower the price.
