Exclamation

The new site design is now online!

Comments? Does the site seem slower than before?

Marcus

It's relatively early in the morning, Eastern time, but the site does not seem slow. If anything, it seems faster. I like the new look. I was a little suprised when I checked in this morning, but I the new look is definitely an improvement. You administrators continue to do an excellent job with this site. This is an example of what a product-specific site can, and should, be.
Great work!!

Wow! Nice job. It took me a minute, I wasn't sure if I had the right place. You guys should warn people before such drastic changes. It's too early in the morning to get freaked out like that. The site looks great and I really like the new logo. Kudos to the VC team!

Site looks great. Rather brighter and so much more color-filled now.

Don't see any slowdowns. Good job, guys.

Thumbs up

Wow ... looks good and I have not noticed any lag. Almost freaked out too (good thing I already had my dose of coffee)

Hey, the window below (on the post submission page) is way cool and will come in very handy. Helps when you are trying to reply to a bunch of comments in the thread and ....... where was I?

It actually seems faster to me. Maybe it's because some of the traffic wasn't expecting the change and thinks they're at the wrong site.

Cool

Great site.. but why did you design it for 1024x768? What about the 800x600 folks? (I just switched resolution and nothing happened when I reloaded the page).. Those people who use lower resolutions won't see much of the menues at the moment.

Anyway.. great site

The site is designed for 640x480 and up... It is stretchable, that is, it should stretch to fill your whole browser window.

What browser/os are you using?

I'm using Windows 98 (English) and MSIE 5.0 (Altavista Edition)..

Maybe the problem is that I didn't restart the whole browser before trying to access the site again. I only switched resolution and hit CTRL-R. Looks like that didn't work too well.

anyway.. the site still looks great, and now that I know it's made for a resolution of 640x480 I've got nothing more to "complain" about.

The new design looks great. I love what you've done with the "Visorcentral" logo too.

I just took a longer look over the 'home page' and truly do find the new layout quite well done. I like the idea behind the small visor icon links on the right side of the page -- visornews, visormeter, etc. And no sense of an overdose of colors. It all fits together. Again, good job.

On a vaguely similar note, I would ask to have the picture of Chris/sluggo taken off the VC article triumvirate. It's not that I have anything against his looks (!); it just feels like everytime I come here, he's looking out from behind that Visor he's holding up and taunting me ("You know you want one....").

OK, so I'm a bit off my rocker. Humor me!

Zippy,

Don't worry about him feeling too smug. He dropped his Visor and shattered the screen. (Poor guy ... that had to hurt.)

Lightbulb

I like the new format. Except for the location of the banner add on the homepage. I wish you would put the links which are across the top below the banner add so I could scroll up and avoid having look at the obnoxious banner add! I try and get off the homepage as quick as possible.
