Question

I guess this is a question for James because he is the only person who has one... I know they were planning on incorporating audible content into the minijam - have they?

If you don't have access, just go buy a $1.00 audio book and check it out for us ;-). We really would like a minijam, but more for the audio books and storage than for the mp3 capability.

Thanks,

Brian

I know that Audio Intelligence is doing audio books (vBooks?) for the MiniJam. I took a look at Audible.com, and Format 4 is a form of MP3. If someone is subscribed to one of the free sample items, they can email me a file and I'll test it.

hmm, I use Audible and it not what you think. Your player has to support audible. In my case, the RIO 500, I had to actually flash the firmware to get it to play audible. It then gives your player a key so that you can't load the songs onto anyone else player. Then when you load the songs on your player you have to use the audible book manager to load the books onto the player, it checks for the players key and then loads the book on.

Its not just a simple file. although I've been working on a way to get to the file it places on the player, but I think that its encrypted and it won't play on another player with a different key.

Question Any progress?

Has anyone had luck getting their MiniJam or SoundsGood to play Audible.com content?

Bummer.

Attached is my most recent reply from Innogear.

quote:
Thank you for your recent contact.

This was a feature that was anticipated to be added. However the MiniJam
does not and will not support the content according to the information that
I have been given. I apologize for any miscommunication.

Guess it's settled. I'm not ordering either MiniJam or SoundsGood anytime soon.

*sigh*

Red face What Does This All Mean?

So, Audible.com's content is in a format that won't quite work for the Minijam (or Sounds Good, for that matter - right?) BUT that doesn't mean if I rip a spoken word CD and convert it to mp3 format that I should have any problem, does it?

Thanks,

Peter

Post Currently no bookmark or pause feature

Weazelll, the only problem you will have is bookmarking where you left off. Minijam has no way of remembering where you stopped playing the MP3 track. When you shut down Minijam it loses its place and goes to the beginning of the track.

So, if you are 25 minutes into a 40 minute track, there's no way to restart at the 25 minute mark once you shut down the minijam. (Except for holding the fast forward button down for a very long time.)

The MobilePlayer (no longer available) I purchased from Audible.com a year ago has bookmarking capability and many other features which make it a superior spoken word listening device.
