Switched from Palm III to plain vanilla 2MB Visor recently. Get frequent "Fatal Exception" errors. Handspring suggests that it is caused by one of my third party applications that I used on the Palm. Have upgraded to LATEST VERSIONS of all software. Still get the FE error. Lose all data.

I have had difficulty getting information from the software authors about compatibility with the Visor. Does anyone know if any one of the following programs cause problems with the Visor?:

Hackmaster
SwitchHack
EveditHack
RPN
MathPad
Cesium

I could live without Cesium, but I really depend on the other apps.

Thanks

Charles Poole

While not knowing the error you're receiving, I'll say that I had numerous problems when I tried EVEditHack.

Thanks Mark

The error is exactly as I stated. "Fatal Exception" suddenly appears on the screen. There is an on screen "Reset" box, but using it almost always ends up in the Visor hanging up. Only a hard reset will recover. I know that Evedit Plugbase version would never install properly on the Visor. I'll try uninstalling the hack version. Too bad. There are so many features in Evedit that I like. Worked fine on my Palm.

Thanks again

Charles

Unhappy Switch hack

I had a number of problems with switch hack in the past, but that was a long time ago so they might of had an update by now.
