I'm with Bearpaw on this one. Phillips dropping CE is news. MS's FUD isn't.

A Public Bow..
Your Comments were directed toward MS PR and not them in general, My Bad. They do have a tendency to well make stuff up. I guess there has to be some advantage to having a whole bunch of Monopolies.

Bryan

PS what is FUD?

FUD
Fear
Uncertainty
Danger

As in a company (ie. MS) releasing misinformation to the public in order to induce fealings of 'FUD' towards a copmpetitor's product. IBM was also a big player in this sorta' marketing.

The Microsoft monster has probably only felt a slight pin prick from the little baby Handspring. By next year though, if the Visor continues to be as popular as it appears to be now AND people start defecting from Windows CE PDA's, THEN the battle of the operating systems will have begun.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out. Some have speculated that since Palm and Handspring have already tied there fortunes to each other, maybe Hawkins will end up the head of an independent Palm/Handspring alliance to fend off Microsoft. Crazy? Time will tell...

Cool

I guess the good side of such competition is (hopefully) that whatever happens we'll continue to get better and better PDA's.

(And of course it would sure be nice to see the Palm platform kill Windows CE... oops, letting true alliances shine through)

By next year, nobody will have defected from using CE, because nobody's using it now!

P.S. The D in FUD is for "doubt" -- as in "I doubt WinCE has a future."

Thanks for the correction.
