Pictures!

Brighthand now has pictures of the new models on their front page. Nothing new and exciting to look at.

Thanks for the link. The Pro is interesting. Nice specs. It's almost worth upgrading from my Deluxe for 16MB. I've never been a fan of painted plastic, though in fact, that's a deal breaker for me. The Neos are pretty snazzy, however, probably not the thing for me. I would have liked to see the Pro in Smoke color.

InfoSync has the same pics, but bigger.

my .02: These took what, 2 days to develop? Is HS low on resources, or what?

my second .02: Looks like they us the traditional HS connection, meaning that the Edge is further marginalized.

My last .02: I'm glad I have a Prism, but that smoky color makes me yearn.

We have some more info at www.hhcmag.com as well... Our Buyer's Guide issue is coming out soon, and when Handspring gave the go-ahead to release the info we decided to post our coverage from that issue free on the web site as a PDF file.

I see a lot of criticism of these models as not being innovative. One has to assume and hope Handspring has much cooler stuff in the works. There's nothing wrong with replacing the Deluxe and Platinum with more interesting models, as long as improved high-end stuff is in the works as well.

Despite our desire as Visor power users for a thin, 16MB+ Prism with a Clie screen, real sound, and other improvements, I'd imagine Handspring finds the vast majority of its sales are on the low end. So it's good that they're making the low end more attractive.

(We still want a thin, hi-res color model,though. :^)

Thanks for doing that. It looks like a very nice issue. I plan to print it out at home on my color printer to read it in depth.

I agree. These don't look like the new high end. They look like the new bottom and middle range sluggers that will hopefully lure more new PDA users to Handspring and maybe hook them by selling them some Springboard modules (not that that's a bad thing.)

I personally am waiting for a color screen with the Solo/Deluxe/Platinum/Neo/Pro form factor. Oh, and gimmie the smoke color. Then my Deluxe will get full time "Bike Brain" duty.
