Would anyone be interested if Handspring offered the colored faces of the Visor for sale? Be able to change the color of your Visor to suit your mood or what ever. Or even buy a Graphite case for those oh so import and politically correct office situations or meetings with the boss when you do not want to look like a kid with a new toy. OOPS isn't that what we will all look like when our Visors arrive in the mail?

A nice brushed stainless case would be nice...

No I am not a Palm V wannabe, I like the looks of a metal case over plastic. Plus it seems to last longer that way... Someone was talking carbon fiber earlier.

How about a nice NASCAR sponsered Visor case! They have their logo on nearly everything else and of course there will be fans of WWF or WCW who'll want their covers as well.

Nokia has done a pretty good job with the different colors for their phones in a snap on snap off mode.

Why not Visor?

I'm sick of all this speculation on colors ship dates etc....where's my Visor!

I wanted a Red one to begin with.. I don't know why they never offered it to begin with. No real "strong" colours like a deep red or heavy green.

If they have a replacement that is a nice red I'll get it in a second.

Hey, has anybody heard of http://www.palmcolors.com/palm_colors.htm ? I just emailed [email protected] and told them that there would be a lot of people interested in some aftermarket faces for the Visor. I bought the Graphite because I can't stand the cheesy clear iMac plastic look but I would really love a variation of solid color options. If anyone else is interested please mail them too. If they see a market they will produce!

Better than a NASCAR sponsored case would be a Handspring sponsored car.

There has been a lot of early excitment and then subsequent moaning about Palmcolors. They came out early promising color cases for the Palm III and Professional with nothing to show for it. People are beginning to wonder if they actually going to make anything, let along alternative color Visor cases.

On the whole I think it would be cool to change face plates, especially if it was as easy as the Nokia phones.

how about school sponsored cases; i for one want the transparent blue and orange swirled case with the "bucknell university" logo on mine.

they would sell like hotcakes in college bookstores pre modified!

Cool

Irewolf, I think you were talking about me... I was actually talking about a carbon/kevlar cover, a slightly different look... of course I will be using the actual materials and not just a sticker... I talked to my friend regarding the different cases, we've got the material costs and can't wait for the visor to be delivered so we can begin the transformation process to begin... If you guys want, I might post a few pics of the cases somewhere on the sight...

It was actually me that mentioned the carbon fiber case, but if you can make a carbon/kevlar case, let me know. I may be interested in that. Originally this topic was to guage response to the idea of getting handspring to sell replacement faces in their range of colors but I like the idea of all of the aftermarket colors and materials.

CodeMonkey:

PalmColors is VAPORWARE. They will never ship product no matter how much you stuff their inbox.

Personally, I wish they would pull the page off the web so that we don't have to deal with explaining to newbies why they shouldn't get excited. The joke has gotten stale guys!
