Hi,

I just got my 7160 through Cingular and was hoping ti use the IR to connect to the internet and so forth. I have already downloaded the IR tools and updates.

I have flow control off, no strings in the modem settings, 9600 selected. The visor sees the modem when I test it and vice versa.

I am getting this error message:
Error:
Modem Command Error
CHeck Modem Preferences
(0x1105)

Any idea what this means?

Is it possbile to use Or do I need a null modem adapter? I can use the WAP browser on the phone but the Visor screen is bigger.

There could be other causes, but I got that error before VoiceStream enabled data calls on my line.

You may want to call your cellphone service provider and have this double-checked. Having WAP enabled on the phone may not be the same as enabling data through the IR port.
