New Visor?

Has anyone heard anything else about the new Visor?

Mere speculation. The only thing that was virtually audible was the gasp from the assembled as handspring announced the development of a device months before release.

If memory serves, the new "Visor" was supposed to be released this month and there was speculation that it would be this week.

If this is the case I'm surprised no one has seen it or has found out any solid information about it

Not necessarily a Visor

I believe the statement was made that it is a non-TREO device. While it's possible that it would be a Visor, it may not be. It could be a non-expandable small PDA with a keyboard and a color/mono screen without wireless capabilities. The casing of the TREO without the radio.

I hope Handspring doesn't do something stupid like that, but who knows... Stating you are discontinuing a line that is your only bread and butter (at the time) isn't exactly a sign of brilliance...

They do need another Visor, period. It's about the only thing that could bring some degree of balance to the premature statements made a few short months ago. I wish them the best of luck. I want to see Handsrping succeed.

Now if I could just keep her from making those long distance calls on my VisorPhone...

Well, I don't want to make another one of those "ideal device" wish lists, so pardon me if this sounds like another one of those.

Just some guesses with a little wishful thinking.

Didn't we hear that they may make a "new device", but that they're also committed to "wireless" products?

I don't want a converged device. I like the phone and PDA separate.

I love my Springboards - the camera is nice, the backup mod is great, and the modem is superb.

I think the m500-series is too small for comfortable handling and writing, especially if you have large hands.

What if they came out with a Visor-form-factor wireless device, Springboard-compatible, with a keyboard or graffiti, just like the Treo.

But wireless. With an OLED color screen which will minimize power consumption.

No BS. No phone. Yes Springboard. Yes nice form factor for writing, with a nice weighted stylus.

What utility that would be!

Hell, since we're guessing...

Treo 180 w/o the cell phone and with a springboard slot. No graffiti option. 8MB RAM, mono, 160x160, OS 3.5. Maybe 16MB RAM. Maybe color to 'update' the prism. Definitely 160x160 and OS 3.5. Maybe different colored cases. Separate MMC/SD slot unlikely - though possible.

Yeah but the Treo 180 having cell phone and springboard goes against our theory that Treo is just a visor with a permanant Visorphone plus some extras...
