Question

I just installed win2k usb driver. but my visor gets a "fatal error" every other time I sync it. in other word, first time I hit sync, it crashs; after a soft reset, sync works, and next time it crashs again...

is it only me? anyone has a solution?

thx alot!

I had this problem when I had EVPlugBase 1.1 installed. The previous version didn't have this problem. That was under Windows 98, and Win2K hasn't been a problem for me, but then again, I didn't reinstall EVPlugBase but started using Hackmaster.

I seem to have the same problem with EVPlugBase installed.

Speaking of which...has anyone heard what happened to the company that makes it? I haven't been able to access their site in months.

I this problem with EVPlugBase installed. On both win2k and win98. There are two ways around it.

1st get rid of EVPlugBase.

2nd, Do not Hotsync your visor when the hotsync app is the active app on your visor. In other words, before you do the second hotsync, go to the Visor Main menu. You should now be able to hotsynch successfully.

thank you for your info folks, but I really depend on EVplugbase for it's own English-Chinese dictionary... is there any solution?

Homer, the company makes EVplugbase is a Chinese company called EVsoft, their website is http://www.evsoft.com.cn
I'm not sure if they have English version or not though...

Did you try my second method? Whenever you hotsynch your visor, the app the is open on the visor is the hotsynch app. Go to anyother app such as the launch screen or address book. I could hotsynch mutliple times if I did that. Just make sure your visor isn't on the hotsynch app.

Thanks Babyjohn for the link.

For the record, the reason I was asking is that the latest release is 1.1b1 and I was wondering if they ever released a final version. Their site links on Palmgear.com and handango.com are dead.

If anyone needs to download it from their web site (which is all in Chinese) you can go to: http://www.evsoft.com.cn/download/evplugbase.zip

Hope that helps!

Nechasin:
thank you for your help, the 2nd method works, but the problem is visor crashs at the first time I sync it, no metter which app is openning, even it's off...

anyway, I uninstalled evplugbase already, changed back to hackmaster, hopefully this one will live longer...
