when I place my VDX onto the serial connector of my keyboard it will not work unless I shut my visor off and turn it back on. If I have it shut off when I connect it then its ok when I turn it back on. It seems that the keyboard only works if the PDA is off before it gets connected. Is this true?

Yes, this is true. It's mentioned in the Stowaway manual.

Another way...

So that's how to do it!

If you forget and plug in the keyboard with the Visor on, you can go to the "keyboard" program and uncheck and recheck the "Enable Keyboard" box to re-enable it. I've been doing that all along.

Maybe we should contact customer support or tech support through email.

Just an innocent question

I remember reading somewhere that the Visor has to be off before attaching to keyboard---can't recall where.

Why not just turn it off and on??

I've been doing that since day-one with my Stowaway as well. I find it to be a generally good practice. I notice if I shut off my VDx, disconnect the keyboard, then turn the VDx back on, it'll crash every time. I also manually shut off the keyboard driver to make sure the Beam Receive gets re-enabled. Just to make it even easier, I've got a "hot key" set up in SilverScreen to let me quickly enable the keyboard, and a command key set up in the Keyboard driver to let me quickly switch to the driver and disable it.
