I too got a similar e-mail to the one eric69 did. They confirmed it's a valid rebate and that a check would be sent. However, they added something about having to wait6-8 weeks til after it is processed. Don't know if that is boilerplate, since I sent it in on Jan 17th and it should have been processed by now. I had entered into my Prism to start looking for the check on 3/16.

Good for you, but

A friend of mine is having no luck getting any response, despite submitting four queries over the last month to the web site. (Which makes me even more happy that I went back to the store to get my rebate.) Hope a lot of people aren't disappointed in a couple months.

Angry Different reply

I got a reply that said these rebates were being dealt with by CompUSA. Don't know what to make of it.

mbriody - you mean you got that reply by email from the rebate site, or from some other source?

Lightbulb Any left?

If anyone has an original rebate form left... I would love to get my hands on it. I want to get a Prism for my wife's B-day! If you have one lying around, email me and I will tell you where to mail it. (I will even reimburse you for the stamp!) Thanks!

Thank you for sending your COMPUSA rebate inquiry. At this time all customer service inquiries are being directed to COMPUSA

=================

Anyone had a rebate through yet?

Does anyone have a contact number for a department at CompUSA that deals with rebates?

Talking Further info

I just called the rebate center. The guy there confirmed that my rebate for $200 was in the final stages and he was able to quote my address.

However he said that this offer was taking some time to process because it had been very popular(!) and that it may still take several weeks for the check to be mailed out.

Looks like we will be getting it eventually though.

Talking It's true!

My rebate check came in yesterday, and this is in Hawai`i, where I always assume we get things two weeks later than everyone else. I actually had a hard time believing it. The fact that the check said, "Thank you for buying a Handspring Visor Prisism (sic}!" didn't help build confidence in its validity.

But, I deposited it, and my bank didn't laugh at me, so... whew. A Visor Prism for $299, not too good to be true after all.

Wink prism for 299

HA!!

For all the naysayers, I recieved my $200 rebate check today. I am just wondering if the individuals who were able to dupe the CompUSA store for $200 instant rebate have recieved a $200 mail in rebate as well. If so, congads on recieving a Prism for 50 bucks.

I love my Prism, and love the fact that I got it for $250 even more.

My rebate arrived today. I am glad I started reading these boards back in Janurary. I had been considering buying a Prism for a few weeks - the *possibility* of a $200 rebate made the decision easy. After using the Prism for a few weeks, I decided that I would keep it regardless of the outcome of this rebate.

Very pleased to see that CompUSA has honored these rebates. I think I'll spend the bulk of this check on accessories at their store as a way of saying thanks!

Whew!

Got my rebate check. I was beginning to worry seeing everyone else mention getting theirs, since I sent mine in the first day.

Now I'm happy, relieved and delighted that I took the plunge.

I just received my $200 today. I'm also relieved and pleasantly surprised.

When opening your rebate check, be careful when you tear the side and upper tabs. There is a possibility of tearing that $200 check.

Angry outdated rebate

Why do you people (Handspring) keep this outdated material in your news letter, it's 4 months old & no longer applies. Keep this news letter NEW...........Unless you don't have anything new to report.
