Cool UPDATED: My gripings are over...again... for now....

The gods must have wanted me to save money, for now, it may look that in the end, I will have a VDX! Even better, it'll be new!

Thank'yee to the person who found out about that Staples coupon, and Thank'yee to Handspring for giving that rebate extension out to those of us who must wait for UPS to lose our products.

I shall use "Mr. Smiley" to portray the timeline of emotions in my 11 failing and 1 successful attempts to acquire my VDX.

I lost count. The important thing is, "Mr. Hands spilling his Kool-Aid" is on it's last leg. (No pun intended) , so savor it now, for it's about to leave, as promised!

Ummm.. I though that you said that you recently purchased a "rare" (whatever that means) Ice VDx. Did or did this not go through? I'm a little confused.

Unhappy Yes, it was that rare one.

Yes, this was that rare one. I DID purchase it, but then the seller .. uh... dissapeared.

USB being the big exception. Is there a Stowaway for HandEra?

The HandEra has the same serial port as the Palm III, and I'm pretty sure there is a stowaway for the Palm III.

I ask again. How is an Ice Visor Deluxe rare? I was just down at staples and they had a couple "rare" Ice VDxes in the back. I don't know about you're defenition of rare, but usually it means to me that a rare object is somethign that's hard to find. Obvioulsy the ICe isn't "rare", or hard to find.

Unhappy well...

They're rare in the fact that buying a used one is near impossible, they get snatched up quickly.

As for buying a used one, I've heard tons of stories of people who end up buying blue or green because they're out of stock.

*shrugs*

or... maybe it WAS an ICE Platinum.

Not to be critical, but you didn't try very hard.

1) Got to http://www.staples.com/Catalog/Brow...26+Handheld+PCs , get a ice visor for $250.

2) Use a coupon code from http://www.slickdeals.net/category/s-z/?#146 to get $40 off (now $210).

3) Go here: http://www.handspring.com/promos/visordeluxe.jhtml to get a $50 rebate. (now $160)

Now you have a nice new Ice Deluxe for $160.

Whip out that credit card and quit yer gripin'!!

Target was selling them for $199 and then with the $50 rebate you had one for $149.

The only thing to worry about is that the Handspring Rebate ends (i.e., Deluxe must be purchased) by Monday. Of course, you also have to put out the $50 now and wait for the rebate to come in.

BBlue, if you don't happen to make it for the described deal, come back and e-mail from here and we'll talk. I've got an Ice Deluxe, optimized for the minstrel s modem, and in great condition. I wasn't planning to sell, but maybe we can work something out and I'll upgrade to a Platinum or Prism.

Did it,

I officially terminated the contract from the person who dropped dead off the planet, and purchased it from Staples.com. Staples.com is taking a whopping 10 days to process my order, so I'm going to contact Handspring about the possible extension on the rebate offer, since it was purchased before the April 30th deadline. It shouldn't be a problem, at least it wasn't with my Palm VII when I purchased it.

Could this finally be the end to all of this strife? We'll find out!

-There isn't a Target where I live.

Lightbulb So you think...

I guess Target's not a "Major Store!"

Anyway, Handspring did grant me an extension, which was confirmed with Staples.com .

That's really nice!

The best part is, it'll be brand new!

Even better, they said it may arrive as soon as tomorrow, and then I may have pics for y'all! B/C I KNOW you just HAVE to see an ICE VDX!
