I have PiDirect with my memplug, I just copy the PRC file to the flashmedia into the proper directory with my PC's card reader and pop it into the memplug, presto.. it shows up automagically on my Prism ready to go and not taking up any of the visors memory!!.. if you don't have PiDirect you could still do the same then use PiMover to manually copy the file into the visors memory..
Either way, no need to hotsync.. ever.. not even for backups.. (PiBackup 2)
FYI, you can have databases only on the memplug, so long as the application doesn't try to update it or write to it, (i.e. e-book pdb files) some programs like games require one or two files to be in the visors memory while the rest can be totally on the memplug. It will crash if it can't write to the database file.
