Cool Show off your desktop!

Just thought it would be fun for us to show off our current desktop customizations. PC or Mac.

Here is mine, at the moment:

Ha! I just cleared them out of the way for the screenshot. Usually, I have an odd assortment of files and shortcuts lying around. But I keep my desktop as clean as possible. Too bad I can't say the same thing for my Inbox!

Pretty cool, foo. putting all those apple logos in a windows 'atmosphere'. one question, why not put the start bar at the top of your screen?

about 3 years ago (when i upgraded to 98) i tried putting my start bar at the top of the screen. odd at first, but after awhile i found it much more comfortable when working at the computer for extended periods. my eyes naturally gravitate upwards and considering all menus in software are at the top of the screen, it only seems logical to have everything up there.
]
give it a shot. you'll feel strange at first so give it a week or so (depending on how often you use the computer) and i can almost bet that you'll prefer it.

besides, it's one more step toward making your WIN machine look like an apple...unless OSX is different and stuff is at the bottom?

I don't think you can move around Windows XP's taskbar, unfortunately.

When we first got Windows 95, my mom put the task bar on top. I said, "are you crazy?" But when I was at friends' houses, it really didn't seem as good. But it came down from the top when it conflicted with AllAdvantage (anyone belonged to that???).

I had my startbar at the top of my screen - a win2k server system back than, (my monitor likes it at the top) unluckiyl few programs reconized it there, and ltos of title bars got hidden away, and generally things jsut got screwed up so it's back at the bottom thought I cna always try again (I'm back on 98 again) hmm maybe it'll work?

The PrintScreen key takes a shot of your entire desktop to the clipboard which you can paste in Paint or any other graphics program. Alt+PrtScr takes a snapshot only of the active window.

Sure you can, just right-click it and uncheck "Lock the taskbar".
