Talking

Time for something good to say about the Visor. I have had my deluxe for 3 months. Not a crack, a hard reset, works great!!! Rec'd it in four days. My son has a Vx and my screen is better. The 8 meg is wonderful, the backup module flawless. I sync corporate email and avantgo daily. Hacks are launcher III and afterburner. Launcher III is a must have.

This is my first PDA. No more day planner. Since I purchased mine, several at work ordered...the PALM owners are jealous.

Is it perfect? no, the plastic cover is a pain, but I just use the leather case around the office. However, the functionality and price were right for me.

So, to all you negative posters...there are many more of us that have had a grrreat experience. I would venture to say there are thousands of satisfied customers that have never visited this site.

KD:

It looks like the positive posts are now outnumbering the negative posts for the first time. I am sure the execs at Handspring are breathing a little sigh of relief. There is still lots of room for improvement though. Lets see if things get better in the weeks and months to come.

I have very good experience all around.
But it's the fact of life, you'll hear from unhappy customers more than happy customers.
Ask every CS of any company, all they hear is complains even for the co. that has good reputation on quality and service. It's just human nature.
I'm not saying HS is perfect. I have minor defect w/ my case I called and got thru right away and get my repalcement in approx. 10 business days as I was told even the return shipping is paid for. I could not ask for more.

Cool

My BVD Rocks.

I have sold 4 maybe 5 at work and elsewhere.
I am on my second Visor . . . through no fault of HandSpring tho . . .I dropped it and broke it . . . HandSpring replaced it for me at no charge . . . So I would say customer service is awesome.

Anyone thinking of a Palm device should get a Visor!!

Way to go HandSpring. . . now if QuoVadis would just ship that d*mn GPS Springboard!

Amen. I'll have to say that I completely agree with this thread. The more posts I read, the more extreme I think many people have been. No question that there have been (and in some part still are) some problems with meeting demand.

Handspring has been awfully responsive each time I've called to ask questions.

Some of the exaggerated posts about being on hold for three hours and the like are simply too much for me to believe. Why does anyone stay on hold that long? Come on, three hours?

There seem to be many experiences of people breaking their Visor but CS paying for shipping and a replacement. That seems pretty fair to me for a $279 item.

I have had my Visor Deluxe (graphite) for a couple of months now and have had no problems with it (except one software conflict resolved by getting an OS 3.1-compatible version).
I broke the screen on my old Pilot 1000; 3Com was going to charge $100 for repair. Handspring evidently doesn't charge anything for the first broken screen. That's commendable.
Overall, I'm extremely happy with my Visor.

I love my BVD. I'm one of the semi-early adopters (ordered in mid October got it in mid November). I can't get along without it.

I bought one for my wife for Christmas. Although she originally thought it was a "geek toy" she now thinks that it's invaluable.

The dullest pencil is better than the sharpest memory. The Visor's my pencil, my notebook, and my memory.
