Lucky you. UPS decided to sit on mine in Indiana for an extra day.

Pictures?

Now, all I need is my Xircom 802.11 card and, um, then I've spent a lot of money....

Mine is sitting in Illinois... and it looks like I won't get it until Friday. I'm going crazy with excitement!

You have my jealousy Jenny!

got mine this past friday (12/14)

Well... except for choosing the slowest shipping possible (I know one week isn't slow, but I realllly wanted it immediately!) I got my stowaway for my edge this past friday (12/14).

Exactly one week after it was shipped (or 5 business days). So it works just as I expected it to.... just like my wife's stowaway that she uses with her platinum. At least she can't rub in that she has one and I don't anymore.

And today I get to use it a meeting for the first time... I can't wait to see the ooo's and ahhh's.

Why would anybody want pictures? It really looks exactly like it would with a normal visor... except it's an edge sitting there...

(wonder how many have been sold so far... )

I received my stowaway last night. I have to tell you- I'm VERY unimpressed. I had the regular stowaway for several months and liked it a lot. It was easy to use and had that distinct 'cool factor' when you opened it up.

The Edge stowaway retains the coolness factor, but as for ease of use, it sucks. Could they have designed a worse connector interface? It took me 20 minutes last night to get my Edge seated so I could use it. The little metal spring clips that help hold the Edge in place kept getting caught and bending back. I managed to get them back into place, but I have a feeling it won't be long bfore one snaps off. It's an absolutely terrible interface. I wish I had not sold my visor stowaway and just made my own adapter for it.

And for the $100 I paid for it, would it have killed Think Outside to throw in a disk or CD with the keyboard drivers on it? I know you can download them off the website (which I did), but for the new users of stowaways how would they know that? The (really) basic instruction sheet makes no mention of drivers. Overall very disappointing.

Mike

Mike - not to be in favor of one compaany or antoher but two things...

I myself had no trouble getting the edge intothe kb - it was different than the Prism, but nonetheless provided a strong fit. Maybe you have a defective unit?

Abotu drivers, when yo upurchased the stowaway off their site it was made celar that no drivers come with this - yes it makes no sence that they didn't write a 25 cent floppy with teh drivers, but oh well...

The Prism comment gives me a question... does anybody know if the Edge stowaway works for the Prism too? I have never looked at the two side by side to see how the pinouts are... but the are the only two rechargable Visor's. I'd be cool if it was compatible cause it would mean I could switch to a Prism if I so desired and not lose the Stowaway coolness.

Not only are the connections totally different, the pins are slightly different - not sayign that you couldnt' make an adaptor, but it would be almost impossible to maek it work with the prism....

Talking Visor to Edge Stowaway

If you have a Visor Stowaway and want to use it on an Edge.
Targus Tech Service sell an adapter for $15.
I received mine and it works fine
