Hey Y'all-

I just got this e-mail... Anyone have suggestions which way to go? I am starting to think about the Sprint PCS phone...

Thank you for being a valued customer of YadaYada. We regret to inform you that YadaYada will no longer offer its award winning Wireless Internet Service. It will terminate the existing users on Thursday Dec 6, 2001 5:00 pm EST. We suggest that you make alternate arrangements with other service providers such as GoAmerica or with a carrier for Internet access such as AT&T or Verizon. As a convenience, we will provide desktop based Internet access to your email for another week. The email access on the desktop will end on Dec 13, 2001. We have prepared a list of questions that will help you in the transition.

I would suggest you go with the Samsung I300 from Sprint. Combining everything into a single, pocketable device is soooooo convenient and your wireless data coverage is improved dramatically over what YY offered! Of course, if GSM coverage in your area is decent and you don't need color, you may want to holdout for the Treo. Other options include the Visorphone, the SB3000, and Kyocera 6035. These should all work fine if you don't mind carrying a brick on your side. Your final option is just switching over to OS or GoAmerica. Personally, I prefer OS (great CS and TS) of those two providers.

You must have missed OmniSky is in a lot more trouble than GoAmerica. The SEC has been demanded reports of their financial status for a while now.

I haven't read up on it lately, but I believe they were being delisted because of their stock being SOOO low and their quarter report not being filed.

YadaYada Alternative

Check this out, Zero Gravity offers YadaYada subscribers a free trial of their wireless services. Same browser technology, great mail and document managment applications. Pick Verizon or AT&T as your network provider, and then choose Zero Gravity for your applications and support.

GSM and GPRS

You had me really excited and then I realized I don't live in Canada so they can't help me anyways.

I am really debating this issue... is it worth it to wait for GSM and GPRS? It will be more expensive and faster but does anyone know possible prices and equipment costs?
