IR handheld messaging

I was wondering if it is possible to send a directed message to another handheld through IR. So I could send a message to one person even if another person is in range of the beam.

Anything like this exist?

Here are a couple choices:

As far as sending it to just the one guy, the IR beam will only connect to 1 visor at a time. You'll just have to shoot straight
