Question

Strongly considering getting a HS modem to go along with my VDx in order to check email while on the road. But, I have a few questions that maybe those of you who use a modem can help me with:

How hard is it to set up the modem/VDx?

What 3rd party software will be required?

Is a remote sync hard to do and do I really need to do this? I don't leave home without my backup module.

I'm kinda new to the PDA world, any help you "pro's" may have would be greatly appreciated!!

Setup of the modem/visor is fairly easy and straight forward. If you can set up your PC/Mac with an ISP, it is pretty much the same. Most ISP's work fine, including FreeWWWeb.

As for software to connect (check e-mail, surf, etc) you will need some third party apps:
ProxiWeb
ProxiMail - Mail is dumped into the Mail program.
AvantGo (ver 3.5 will also work as an on-line reader)
EudoraInternet Suite (Mail/Internet) Separate from the Mail application, but does a better job of POP support than ProxiMail, IMHO.

As for modem hotsync, I have not done it or attempted to do it, perhaps others can shed some light on the subject.
