Angry HotSync question...

AAAHHHHH....having alittle trouble setting up my wife's Prism.

When I HotSync everything looks "ok", Prism says all data was transferred, looks like everything showed up on the PC.
She has a few databases loaded on the Prism that do not show up on the PC. They are a bunch of weight watchers lists for her calorie calculating, and some lists of resturants, and foods, with respect to calorie counting and fat content, etc......

I cannot see these databases on the PC. Are they stored somewhere else? Did they not really go?

I'm thinking I may need a third party software, yes...no...???

I called Handspring support and they were of no help.

A friend mentioned I may need to load Excell on the PC as he thinks they are some sort of spread sheet.....

Thanks in advance for your help. I think this Prism is a GREAT tool and my lovely wife uses it endlessly!!!

I'm still stuck in the stoneage with my Franklin Planner...

Many (most?) Palm apps do not have a desktop app to go with them. Are you sure that there is a desktop component to this particular app? If there is, it must be installed on the pc and the conduit must be properly configured on order to see it on the desktop.

If these lists are spreadsheets that sync with excel, you will need to have excel installed and the conduit for whatever spreadsheet you are using on the palm.

When you open these on the palm, what is the name of the app they use? If you can't tell, hit the menu silkscreen icon then look for something like 'About', possibly under an 'Options' or a 'Help' menu.

Angry

Jupe, to access these databases from the main menu all she has to do is click on "lists" ...I think the icon is a two drawer file cabinet.
She had them beamed to her Prism from a friends handheld. I'm not sure if the friend has access to the databases/lists from her desktop PC...although I'm trying to find out.

I did find a website that has the WWCalc (weight watchers claculator) available as a download...but I didn't find any help there in regards to PC access to these lists.

I did a search for "wwcalc" and got lots of hits...here is one of the sites...http://www.freeshell.org/~akasha/ww/pilot/list.html

I'm running late for a class...I'll check in later tonite.

Onward and upward...I'll keep you posted...

Thanx...

IIRC, the lists used by wwcalc are generated using a separate program called lists or something like that. There is no PC side for wwcalc, but I think there might be for the lists. You have to look around a bit on the wwcalc website (check the info for wwcalc), but I think you'll find the information there about what was used to create the lists.

Ok, you can download WListDB from here. That might do what you want.
