I have a small office, with 2 computers that are networked with Windows 98.

I have installed Palm Desktop on both computers, and can do a local sync on each with my one handheld, a Visor deluxe.

Secretary keeps the address book and Date Book on her computer and I would like to be able to sync and get updated information from her computer, by syncing from the other computer, without having to physically walk the cradle out to her desk and interfere with what she's doing.

Can someone walk me through the steps, in careful detail? Please don't refer me to the user guide. I tried, and I'm stuck.

hello! just follow these steps:

1) Since you can already sync locally with your secretary's PC, you will need to go to the Setup option of the hotsync manager in your secretary's PC.
2) Go to the network tab and then click on the user which is the same as the user name in your visor.
3) Click on the TCP/IP button and take note of the PC name and PC address, you will need these when setting up your visor.
4) Don't forget to set which data you want to sync in your secretary's PC. You can do this in the Custom option of the hotsync manager in her PC. We are now done with the desktop part.
5) in the hotsync application of your visor, go to LANSync Prefs in the Options menu.
6) Choose LANSync then tap OK.
7) then go to Primary PC Setup in the Options menu.
8) enter the entries for Primary PC and Primary PC Address which you obtained in step #3.
9) now, you are ready to sync with your secretary's PC.

Note: after doing these steps you will not be able to sync with your PC. to be able to sync with your PC, you will only need to do step #5 and then choose Local HotSync. similarly, if you want to sync again with the other PC, just do step #5 and then choose LANSync.
