Unhappy Sync one, Get two

this is bugging me.

I have a repeating event -- running weekdays, since the beginning of November -- which I check off each day. It'll be over with by Dec 13.

For unknown reasons, each time I perform a HotSync, it thinks the original event still exists as a repeater, even tho it's been checked off and therefore the first date is an individual event. The Sync log gives the orignal date but the repeater actually reappears a couple days prior to the last day checked off. this also means I have duplicate items, because I still have the checked-off item in the schedule at the same time as the repeater.

I always delete the item from both the handheld and Palm Desktop, which should eliminate the problem as it always has in the past when I've run into this sort of sync difficulty.
However, now, the next time I sync the event comes back, as before.
I've been trying to make this stop for two weeks now. I'm out of ideas. HELP!

by the way, Visor Deluxe, Palm Desktop 2.6 running on a Mac that was recently defragged and running OS 9.0.4 (I need to upgrade, but must backup first).

Yorick:
Are you using the built-in Datebook Plus?

Hey, no, er, yes, I mean, I don't know.

I was hoping that by including that specific info, someone else (who knows what the heck they are talking about) would rush to your aid.

I have had problems with duplication of repeat appointments in Datebk5, when I would check them off as done, but nothing about appearing on the wrong date. (Also, this is evidently normal behavior, but bugsome all the same.)

Sorry to not help personally, but still attempting to solicit aid from some other source for you!

poor yorick the elf
poor yorick the driedel
poor yorick the reindeer
the three wise yoricks
poor yorick the grinch, with too-tight shoes or post-heart-grew-three-sizes-that-day
poor yorick the cindy loo hoo, who was not more than two
poor yorick the christmas tree ornament
poor yorick wrapped like a gift

hmmm....this is fun!!

K.: I might use one of your suggestions.

everyone who might care: the event scheduled to end 12/13 extended to 1/3/03.
I extended the original repeating event to 12/20, and suffered with the continuing recurrance as I detailed in the starting post.
I then put in a new event for 12/22-01/03, and deleted the event from the two holidays. When I synced on Christmas all was well, the recurrance didn't happen. I figured, it must have been some fluke associated with the "old" repeater.
When I synced this morning ... ARGH!!
oh well, it's not an issue again until I have another repeating event to schedule.

Clearly, you should stop participating in any activity that needs to be repeated. From now on, Yorick should only do everything one time and one time only.
