If it's a pop3 email account, why can't you use MultiMail Pro? It works with pop3/smtp accounts

If you are referring to a hotmail account that's different. It use http mail and I don't think there is anyway to access that.

Here is some other info you may want to know regarding msn accounts. According to this article, MSN email accounts will no longer work with any email client other then Outlook and Outlook Express. You might want to look into this because there is no Outlook or OE for Palm. http://www.theinquirer.net/18060107.htm

Hope this helps

SMITTYOFDHS is absolutely right. MSN does not work with either Multimail (see support section of MultiM.) or Eudora or One Touch... I've been there. However, using MSN to access the internet with e.g. the VisorPhone works fine.

I hacve used several different palm-browser to access my hotmail while using my thinmodem, and I also have hotmail loaded as an Avantgo channel. Works real well. I have no idea how the MSN mail works.

As far as email in Outlook, I use that too (different account). The software needed for that comes on your handspring cd.

How do you use Hotmail as an avantgo channel? I know you have explained how in the past but something wrong is going on here. Thanks.

I would be interested in knowing how you use Avantgo to get to Hotmail as well. Do tell, do tell...

First, make sure your AvantGo is setup for secure connections. To do this, go to Options in AvantGo on your Visor, choose Server Preferences, select the Settings button, and check the Use Secure Connection option.

Log into Hotmail on your computer, place your mouse over the link that says Inbox, right-click, and select Copy Shortcut. Then log into teh AvantGo website, choose the Create Channel button, label it Hotmail, and paste that shortcut in the address box, (make sure you don't end up with two http://'s at the front of the address). Configure it for size, links, images, etc. and choose Save Channel.

After you hotsync with AvantGo, (I've used both cradle and modem syncs), choose the Hotmail channel on your Visor, and you should see a page asking for your login and password. Go ahead and fill those in. The next time you hotsync, and from now on, you should have all your mail. (Occasionally, for some reason, you will have to re-login and then re-sync).

Also, while you're logged into your hotmail on your pc, you may want to choose Options, go to Preferences, and set the Session Expiration to Never.

This will only give you access to your inbox, but it works great, and I have also used the compose and send functions, and they worked as well.

Thanks. This has worked for me in the past but for some reason I'm getting a message saying that there is a circular redirect. What are your links configured to?

>>Did this and tried several times to get it down on Avantgo without success.

>> Are you referring to the hotmail account website or the Hotmail link on Outlook express? I tried the website and all I get is a message saying "to use Passport, your browser must support Secure Connections and Cookies"

To the website. (I don't use express; take a look at http://www.visorcentral.com/page/0-2-1044-2.htm )

What browser are you using? Try putting http://lw8fd.law8.hotmail.msn.com/c...00000001&a= as the address in your custom channel.

Tried it and it didn't work. Using Avantgo 3.3 and secure connections. Received a "File Not Found" message both times I sync'd.

Hotmail

You can also check your inbox on hotmail via a wireless or wired modem and using a PQA from ThinAirApps (their link for this is: http://www.thinairapps.com/personal/index.asp ) You can setup if you have the following(from their page):

Palm VII or VIIx with Palm.Net service
Palm V* with OmniSky service and modem
Any Palm upgraded with the Palm Mobile Internet Kit, a software and hardware kit that enables you to access the Internet with your mobile phone and Palm together.*

Hope this helps.
Chris

Try contacting AvantGo's support.
I know it works because I get my hotmail everyday. Tell them exactly what you're doing and the exact problem it's causing/error messages it's giving you. I heard of someone contacting them and they gave him a new ip to connect to; after that, all was good. Not sure what else to tell you. I'm using ver. 4.0, but it worked when I was using 3.3 before.
