Topic: 'View unread posts' often includes some already read posts?

Hey does anyone else have this problem? I usually use the 'view unread posts' link to quickly get a summary
of all the new posts, but recently there have been a few 'sticky' threads that keep showing up even when
there haven't been any changes. I have to memorize the number of posts, so I know if they have really
been updated or not. Two of the threads are the 'Prism v. m505' and the 'Who's Jumping Ship' threads in
the 'All Handhelds' forum.

Yeah, I've noticed the same thing but haven't been keeping track of it... I'm wondering if some edited posts are throwing off the tracking system?
Another feature that would be nice for those of us using the "view unread posts" method would be to be able to filter out forums that we're not interested in.

I initially thought that this was only happening to threads that are polls - as if votes were counted as posts. That may be the case but I'm also seeing this with threads that are not polls. I agree that it would be kinda nice to be able to filter out forums we're not interested in.

Looks like it only occurs on polls to me. Someone votes, and now it's in the new thread list. VC can you change the polls so they do not come back every time someone votes?

Now that I think about it, you may be right. The two threads I mentioned are polls, and I could understand the software not distinguishing between real new posts and edited posts or votes on polls. It would definitely be nice to not count new votes as a real 'update' to the thread.

For awhile I was having the opposite problem, the "new posts" would expire too quickly on me, (i.e. under 5 minutes).. Seems to be a bit more sticky and back to normal today
