You got the first part correct, but the butler killed the woman. He was getting the mail on Sunday?

Question 4 is a bit tricky. The obvious answer is that nobody was killed because "survivors" can't be burried. But since the plane crashed on the border, which means it would have crashed in Lake Erie, there could be a different answer.

Answer to number 5 is the match.

that is the answer to a whole different riddle. the question for that answer is: a woman and a man were driving down the highway, the car broke down so the man decided to walk to town for help but first he told the woman to lock the doors and not let anyone in. when the man came back he saw the woman dead and a stranger in the car. the answer to that is: the woman died while giving birth and the baby is the stranger

7. what walks on four legs in the morning, 2 legs in the afternoon, and 3 legs in the evening?

This one's a thinker. The legs thing is a metaphor for human life. 4 legs is morning, birth, when a baby crawls, 2 legs is the afternoon, middle aged, when a human walks, and 3 legs is the evening, when a person needs a cane. Maybe you should make this a different thread.

Unhappy And the connector is...?

While we're on the topic of riddles, here's a perplexing question:

Does anyone care to speculate upon which connector the new devices will use?

Solo/Deluxe/Platinum/Prism, Edge... or heaven forbid, something new?

They're all riddles that I've either heard before or are rather obvious.

Re: And the connector is...?

Boy we have short attention spans these days. how fast this thread veered off topic!

Anyhow, I think all Visor models from now on will use the Edge Connector. The cynic in me is thinking that the one of the "jobs" of these new units is to bolster the Visor Edge. If my assumptions are correct, expect to see the Stowaway for the Edge right after the release of the new units.

Arrow Wondering

I was wondering the same thing. It is a good assumption though. PDA technology have improved a lot since the Deluxe came out two years ago.

I wonder if we'll see a thicker form factor, but it will maintain the Edge's front and back. There's no reason that they couldn't just screw those metal plates into the front and back of a thicker device. Maybe open up the back for a SB w/out a sled. Then they have got a standard connector for the newer products instead of the Edge port sitting out there, sad and lonely. (of course, then the "Edge connector" will be, but that's tfb)

Back to topic...link to CNET item on new Visors

Just in case someonw didn't read this already:

Handspring plans to announce on Monday a pair of handhelds aimed at the increasingly crowded midrange market, sources tell CNET News.com.

One device will replace the $199 Handspring Visor Deluxe, and the other will be the successor to the $249 Visor Platinum. Both of the new handhelds will offer minor improvements to the existing units, such as faster processors and more memory.

Question form factor & connector?

If my memory does not fail me, when the edge was announced, someone at handspring said that the "standard" visor form factor (i.e.: deluxe, platinum, etc.) will remain standard, and so for the serial connector. The Edge was just en exception. Maybe I'm wrong, I've searched a bit on the web but found nothing, anybody have a memory better than mine?

btw, on the serial connectors:

- the edge connector was quite a mistery, due to the double UART and the extra pins, I hoped it will end up in a _usable_ serial line, but still I have seen nothing about it.

- the platinum connector _is evil_ I use often my vdx as a serial terminal an I haven't purchased the platinum just because of the serial issues. I _hope_ the new models will not have the same problem.

- I doubt the new models will use the edge connector, if you use an edge one you have to design a new cradle or use an edgelike form factor (at leat I hope so, there are already 10 different cradle models for handspring units, adding another 4 imho is a bad move)

- just a _wild_ speculation, based on the 16 Mb memory and the eventual hotsync support for memory cards... what about usb2.0 ?

The poison was frozen in the ice cubes, which melted after the man left.

?? I thought the Platinum had the same serial connector as all other Handspring Visors, with the exception of the Edge. (I.e., the Stowaway Visor keyboard works with all Visors except the Edge.)

Does the Platinum use a slightly modified "standard" Visor serial connector, or are you referring to a software problem with the serial interface for the Platinum?
