I find myself backing up my Prism constantly, only because I've been having occasional problems that cause a hard-reset. Could it be potentially harmful to leave my Backup Module in the device in place of the springboard slot cover? If a hard-reset were required, can that affect the data on the Backup Module?

I don't think a hard reset will impact the module - I've never tried it with the backup module, but I have done a hard reset with my Innopak 2v, and it didn't impact the data and apps on the module.

That said, I never leave my back-up in my Prism. The reason simple - what happens if you lose your Prism, or it's stolen? Then you've lost the unit AND you have lost your backup. If you keep them separate, you go out and buy another unit (and hope you have insurance to cover the loss), pop in your backup module, and voila, you are up and running.

Oh Baseman, listen VERY CAREFULLY -- well, read very carefully-- what VTL says. I did lose my Prism. But made it an absolute RULE to keep my backup module at home, in my desk. DO NOT leave youir backup module in the unit. You lose it, you lose the module; you break the visor you risk breaking the module. KEEP THAT MODULE SAFE AT HOME OR OFFICE.
In my case, I went back to my old VDx, slipped the backup module in and, viola, the only thing missing was color!
Tell you what, if that module would have been IN my Prism I woulda been outta luck.
