WinXP compatible version of Palm Desktop released

If you still have problems with syncing your Visor with Windows XP, Handspring released an update to Palm Desktop with WinXP support.

This link has all the information you need plus a link to the software: http://support.handspring.com/esupp...solutionId=6943

I've had little success with my Prism and the new XT-compatible software. I have a brand new Sony VAIO with XT Pro.

Followed the instructions carefully and had one or two synchs. While synching, the XT software still refused to install the Handspring-supplied drivers since they did not have the proper Windows "signature".

Handspring support folks are working on this and the problem has been sent to the next level of support staff. I should be hearing from them on Monday, 11-26.

Any tips on making this work?

First of all, it's windows XP, not XT. My advice would be to read james' little update that he posted. It gives some good advice on how to solve your problem.

Oops! You're right, I typed XT instead of XP, how stupid! I will check James' post. Thanks for the advice.

Angry Still no go with WinXP an new drivers

Well folks, I've tried all of the wonderful tips on the board and I was able to at least synch once, while in the background, the XP device manager installer insisted that the Handspring driver was NG and was missing a signature.

Even after I allowed XP to install drivers that lack the Microsoft signature (or blessing), I still couldn't get the darned thing to work.

Also tried to disable any "power management" of the USB ports.

No other USB device is in other than a built-in memory stick reader by Sony. Could this be the culprit?

Handspring Support has been in contact with me. Four calls and some daring attempts have yielded nothing. My call has been "escalated" to higher ups.

Stay tuned!

Thanks to those who replied and/or offered their kind suggestions.
