Thanks for all the helpful suggestions. The cradle is finally working!
Handspring tech support suggested that I unplug the cradle, uninstall software, reboot, reinstall software, turn off computer, reconnect cradle, reboot, and then try to HotSync.
To my utter amazement, it works! I now know the joy of combining my peppy Internet access here at the office with the improved speed of the USB cradle. Those AvantGo pages just fly onto the Visor!!!
Again, thanks for all your help. Visor owners are so nice!
