Lightbulb GPS Companion County Maps!!!

Don't know if this was posted here before, but for me, the problem with the GPS companion has always been knowing which counties to load. I know my home counties, but I don't know which counties I will be passing through when I travel to Texas, Wisconsin, Etc. Mapquest doesn't seem to have a way to get this info.
Anyway, I finally found a site that gives county maps of each state. Surprise, surprise, it's from uncle sam! (actually the census dept.) Here's the link

http://quickfacts.census.gov/

Go to a particular state, and then click on view map.

Regards,
Adam

If you problem getting the counties of a state, try go to http://www.mapopolis.com. Do the following:

1. Click on the Maps Link.
2. Click the Basic Maps Link.
3. Select the State and type in the city/place name.
4. Click on Search For Place.

It should list the county after that.

Hope that helps.

The original - QuoVadis has a site where you can lookup..

the county in which a particular city is. I use QuoVadis with Etrex and log into http://www.marcosoft.com to get my maps as and when I need them.
GPS Companion was developed by Marcosoft as an OEM product I think.

My particular problem

My problem isn't knowing the county that you start in, or the county that you stop in. It's knowing what counties you are driveing through. That's where the GPS really helps me. Example: A drive from Austin to Houston goes through 6 or 7 different counties. In the past I have used altases or large road maps to try to find the counties, but never had a map that JUST showed the conties. Yes, It would help to have at least a few major roads on the map, but this is the best thing i've found for my particular problem so far... But of course, to each his (or her) own
