I'm 19 years old, and very interested in computers. What I want is a job to do with the technical aspect of computers(software, networks and other such fun stuff) that involves travelling.

You know, all those ads for wireless PDAs and laptops, with people jumping from airport to airport, city to city. That's the kind of job I want.

So, Just what the heck is this job? And what kind of education doI need to get?

Seemed like this would a good place to ask...

I think they are all portraying overworked, middle management suits. Nothing like what you are looking for, IMO.

There are plenty of tech jobs that require travel. I've left jobs because they required extensive travel. That type of position will come with time. However, you need to focus on what is needed to get there. First, if you are currently going to school, check out your school's curriculum for any kind of network administrator certificates, or degrees with emphasis on networks. Second, begin looking into industry certifications. They are key to successfully finding a job as a network admin or engineer. I would recommend looking at the CompTIA A+ cert to begin with, and then maybe the CompTIA iNet+. They are multi-vendor supported certs and allow you to bypass some vendor specific exams. Then you can focus on the vendor certs like MS MCSE, Novell CNE, Cisco CCNA, etc.
