Anyone know anything about this? www.flipcover.com If anyone has any feedback, it would be appreciated. It looks somewhat better than the flipclip ( www.tactillis.com ).

looking for a case that mostly provides protection from scratching the screen. love the visor, hate the case.

Perhaps there might be some information about that in the SIX PAGE THREAD called "flipcover". Best way to find out info (before you start an unnecessary thread) is to click on that little "search" button at the top of the screen.

P.S.
Fantastic product. It's just that it's been hashed over like 50 times.

your sarcasm was not entirely appreciated. prior to posting i did perform a search. after searching for "flipcover" and "flip cover" i came up with nothing. only later did i see the "search discussion" link. maybe a simple link to the thread that was already started would have been more benificial to myself and others intrested. being fairly new to the discssion board, new tips are always appreciated. good day.

Cool Belt Clip for FlipCover

I got tired of having to use bulky cases to clip my Plat on my belt, so I adapted the FlipCover to do the trick. I attached a standard wireless phone swivel clip ($8) to the back of the dummy module included with the FlipCover. To ensure that the swivel clip knob didn't just pop-off (using only two-sided tape), I used a little screw/nut (no comments please) to fasten it securely. This set-up alone doesn't do much good b/c the weight of the Plat would eventually pull the module out and let it drop. I solved this by using a small piece of elastic and part of a paper clip to secure the two together from the knob to the little notch on the Visor, used to secure it to the cradle when HotSyncing. I've used this set-up for over two months without a hitch. Can be a great idea for the right person. Any other belt clip ideas for the FlipCover?

I've been using the FlipCover and a Handspring Sport Case for a couple of months now. It makes a great combination and gives me the best of everything. The VDx has ample screen protection with the FlipCover and the Sport Case is not too bulky and allows me to carry my Visor all day at work. I've even used the FlipCover alone to carry the Visor in my pocket a few times.

There should be a review of the FlipCover online shortly...

Man this is way too harsh! LoboPac would not have open a new post if he knew that there was a couple threads on this topic. Be nicer next time please.

I've used the Flip Clip from Tactilis for 6 months and it is great! A big plus is it is thin enough to allow me to put my Prism in my shirt pocket.

I couldn't use the flip-cover because I always have a Flash Memory Module plugged in.

Not true. You can buy an adaptor that allows you to use the flipcover with any flush module such as the 8/16 Mb flash modules. I use it all the time like this. It is a great product with a very nice fit. I use the flipcover and generally store my prism in the outside pocket of my erunner case.

LOL. Oh my gosh, we are nerds!

Just kidding, I really like that belt clip idea of yours. I have often wondered why none of the case makers made one with the belt clip on the reverse so you could whip it off, flip it up, and start using it. Think Capt. Kirk.

I only know of cases where the visor faces forward and the belt clip is on the back. Do you know of others?

Apologies and Explanations

I would like to apologize to LoboPac for the harshness of my reply to his post. I did not mean to hurt anyone's feelings, but I've always been taught that one should monitor a discussion and do their homework before adding to the discussion. I understand that it may not have been obvious that there was a search function for the discussion boards, and I must have not had my coffee that morning. Please forgive me.

That's it!!! No HotSyncs for a week!!! That'll teach ya... Remember, we were all newbies once ourselves.

Anyway, my review of the FlipCover was posted today. I hope it answers many of your questions.

broken hinge

After about a month of using Flipcover for my Prism, the hinge broke today. I he-mailed their support people to see if they will send a replacement. I'll post their reply when I get one...

Well, my hinge didn't break but the glue on the adapter does not attach to the flash module any more. Flipcover have told me to send in the adapter and say they'll send a new adapter with better glue.

I really like the design of the Flipcover but it won't work for me if the glue doesn't hold -- I need to be confident that the cover won't fall off (which it did two days ago).

Hi,

Just got a couple of questions about the FlipCover:

1. Can you easily remove the hinge and cover leaving the FlipCover SB module cover? And does the Flipcover module cover have the basic hard case slot as the original module cover so the original hard case can be clipped on still? (I have the basic Handspring slim leather case http://www.handspring.com/products/...118&cat=117 , which uses a hard cover to hold my Visor Deluxe and like to use it when I have a big enough pocket as it gives some knock protection and can carry cards. I want the FlipCover so I can put my Visor in my trouser pockets but I don't really want to have to keep swapping the module cover when changing cases)

2. Does the Flipcover interfere with E&B's stylus with pen? (http://www.ebcases.com/Detail.bok?&no=53)

Thanks

The slot is actually part of the Visor, not the module cover. The FlipCover's hinge points are molded into the the cover so using it with one of the Handspring cases is out of the question unforunately.

Using FlipCover with other Modules

Any new word when the so-call univesal FlipCover will be out for use with other modules such as memplug, matchbox,or maybe even with a modem, etc?

Duh, so it is . So I take it the hinge points are not far enough apart for the hard case tab to fit between. Is it feasible to file a few bits away on the hard case tab sewn into my leather case so it fits with the Flipcover module cover?

Thanks again.

Doh!!! Since it's been eons since I used my standard hard cover, I dug it out of my spare parts box and guess what??? It fits on the rear of the Visor just fine with the FlipCover module still installed. I guees that means you can use it with one of the HS cases!!! The only problem I see is the FlipCover hinge... I'm not sure how many install/remove cycles it will endure, but it should allow you to do what you want to do.
