I want to put 3.3V on pin 7 of the docking connector VDOCK so I can supply voltage to a device via the serial connector. Has anyone taken apart their Handspring and found a 3.3v source near the battery compartment? I probed around and could only find Vbat x 2 (2.4v). I am trying to supply power to a MAX3233 TTL/RS-232 chip. I tried using the power from HS* but the chip pulls too much current and causes this signal to be pulled low, thus causing a HotSync.
