How to check out a refurb'd Visor?

Looks like I'm going to have to replace my Prism. The power button is going - I have to jab it several times to get it on or off. Plus, the hotsync button sometimes needs a few jabs to get it running. It's still under warranty, though, so that puts me in refurb land. Last time I did this was years ago with my Palm Pilot Pro, and it took four tries to get a refurb without problems of its own.

So - anybody care to suggest a "checklist" for putting a refurb Visor through its paces? I don't want to send mine back until I'm sure the refurb is actually better, not worse. (And they do still do it this way, don't they? I don't have to send my existing unit in first, do I?) Thanks to all.
