Red face

I have read several posts where people were considering cases for their Visor which connects to their belt. I considered doing this myself, except I already have a pager and cell phone hanging off my belt. And, I noticed that I am just a Bat-a-rang and grapling hook away from a Batman utility belt.

My complaint exactly. I wander around work with my BVD in a Rhodiana and my cell phone, pager and access badge and think "there must be a better solution". I can only hope that the cellphone/vibrating pager springboard is on it's way and that the security system will switch to some form of IR. Fortunately, I seem to be getting more room to add things on my belt as age progresses*grin*.

This really is a problem though...

I've said this elsewhere, but it's worth repeating. I use a coat that's roughly a cross between an overcoat and an army fatigue top. It actually looks quite nice, much better than hanging gadgets on your belt, which is a little high on the geek factor for my taste. I got it a Target (some taste!) for $20, and it has four visible pockets (two of them rather large) and two invisible pockets. I carry a Visor and a cell phone at the moment, but I'll be using the coat to carry a Stowaway and a couple of modules as well.

Interesting phenomenom... I don't carry my cell phone at work and I don't have a pager, so from 8 to 5 (more or less ), I proudly wear my Visor in its E&B Slipper right next to my Leatherman! And I find myself frequently calling the Boy Wonder!!!

Now, if Alfred would hurry up and say dinner is ready...

It's definately a problem (although Batman IS my hero).

All I've found to alleviate it is to get a digital cell phone that is also a pager and receives e-mail, and spread it around as much as you can (cell phone on belt, keys front right, wallet front left, Visor shirt pocket).

A Visor on my belt seemed just a little too geeky (although people at work like to call my visor my "pocket protector").

Cool

At the CompUSA where I work, nearly all of us have either a leatherman type tool on our belt (I use a Schrade myself), or a small knife in our pocket. There are also at least 10 of us who carry Palms as well, including several of the managers. I use the Palm leather case to hold my Visor (at least untill the Rhodiana I ordered gets here) which is pretty sleek, but not a perfect fit. I don't own a pager or a cell at the moment, but even if I did, I dont think the bat belt syndrome bothers me all that much, as long as the items on the aforementioned batbelt are securely attached =).
A few of my co-workers have semi-jokingly talked about making a utility belt type device... I wonder if anything will come of it.
