Printer conflict with Neo.

My mother in law has a NEO. Works like a champ. She just bought a new Lexmark printer which connects to the computer via USB. When we try to load the software for the printer we get a error message and the software never fully loads. Then when we go to hotsync, the NEO goes nuts and she looses all of her data. By reaching back and unplugging the printer, we can hotsync as normal. It appears to be a USB port conflict.

Anyone have a quick setting fix for me?

Thanks a ton.

Doug

My best guess is that the mis-loaded printer software is doing it.

Have you checked the web for an updated printer driver?

It may be the driver. The only thing is, just by plugging the printer into the USB jack is what screws up the Hotsync capablility.

if you feel like spending money you could get a PCI USB card and plug the visor into that.

Yeah, that sounds consistant with a messed up program- there is enough info installed to tell the computer to check the USB port for the printer, but not enough to tell it what to do.

Because the install was messed up, it may not be uninstalling all the way. You'll probably have to run some uninstaller or diagnostics to get rid of the left-over rubbish.
