Unhappy

After half a day with my Visor Edge, it died a less then stunning death.

It started with the exterior and screen buttons became unresponsive. I did a soft reset thinking maybe an OS or Hackmaster error. Nope, same problem upon coming back to life. Did another soft reset, and left the Hackmaster off, same problem.

I buckled down and did the hard reset. This is where things took a turn to bad. When it came back and went through the Palm logo load, up comes the Welcome blah, blah spinning palm screen.

I tap the screen to start the digitizer reset and it will not adjust. The cross hairs bounce from one corner to the other, never adjusting. Now Im worried.

I do several more hard resets to no avail. It is functionally dead.

So Im back to the IIIc till my replacement comes from Handspring. On a note, the tech recommended shipping it back not for repair but under the 14-day money back. If you ship it in to the repair facility he said you would receive a refurbished unit in exchange.

Anyone ever come across this in any form of Palm?

Yes, if you ship it back you get a refurbished unit (not that it really matters, its just as good btu some people like knowing its new - with the Edge I wonder if there are any refurbished units anyways).

Have you tried letting the battery drain totally though? Sometimes that works, solved a problem on my Prism when I couldn't set its digitizer.
