Question

Hey,
Does anyone out there have the aluminum clamshell
visor case by Rhinoskin?

I haven't been able to find any independent reviews, but
I think it looks cool!

Does anyone have one? What do you think?

Thanks,
Drew

I ordered one the minute I read about it in VisorCentral. Must've been about three weeks ago or so. I ordered it from Rhinoskin overnight Airborne. They said it was backordered, but then later that same day, they said it shipped. However, they sent it 2nd day rather than overnight. Still charged me for overnight! I'm still waiting to hear from their customer service. Anyone have problems with their customer service before? It's only $5 but the principle bugs me!! Not on the order of palmgear, but...

Anyway, I digress. You want to hear about the case. Looks nice. Very light, adds little weight. Little cutout on the upper right for the silo stylus. My vpl fits very (?too snugly) tightly into the case. Two prongs at the bottom of the case go into the two holes on either side of the hot sync connection at the bottom of the visor. There is a spring clip that holds the top of the visor as it snaps in. Actually the clip holds the top of the springboard module rather than the visor itself. A visor with the memplug (the new "flush" one is the one I have) doesn't work with this case. My 8mb and 16mb flash modules work fine. Obviously, my minijam, minstrel, and magellan don't fit. You bend an aluminum tab closure to loosen or tighten the clam shell catch. Not the most elegant closure mechanism but it works

50-50 whether I'd buy another one. Good for when I put it in my back pocket and sit down. I can throw it around my briefcase. Expensive. I worry about damaging the case itself (kinda thin aluminum) -- haven't done so yet.

Samily,
Thanks for the info. I am still on the fence about getting one, but if I get
a $50.00 case this will be the one.

Thanks,

Drew
