Red face

No kidding! After four days of fighting with my nearly year old VDX over hard resets, Fatal Errors, and Unique File ID Not Found, etc., I finally had things back to normal. Thanks to Mark Eagle for all your help.

Now, however, the VDX has changed its name to HAL. Will not turn off. Will not do hard or soft reset. Taking out the batteries means nothing to it. What would cause such insolent behavior?

You take the batteries out and it still works? That's fantastic! A perpetual-motion Visor! Just think of the implications!

"Open the Springboard slot, HAL"

"I'm sorry, mcrista, I'm afraid I can't do that."

(The above parody was not intended to malign or embarass any person or individual, and is merely the result of the fact that the poster has no earthly idea how to help with this problem. If the batteries have been out for a day and the Visor still retained it's memory, I am thinking somewhere, somehow, that's a good thing)

Of course, I put the batteries back in after the day-long rest.
