Red face

D'oh! I borrowed a co-worker's eyemodule just to check it out...to see if I might want to get one... and I think I messed the thing up! Now when I put it in, the image gets all staticky and kind of 'spazzes out'.... I don't know how to describe it other than that. I find that if I tap the Springboard module a certain way, the image will clear up really well... but if I tap it in the opposite direction, it fuzzes up again. I don't know if I jarred the lens out of place or what...

Has anyone had experiences like this? Any suggestions? I already told her I would replace her unit if necessary, but I'd like to avoid that if possible...

Thanks!

Did you try a soft reset? (Generic question to solve all mysterious problems )

Does it act the same in both your Visors?

Why do you think you messed it up instead of it just "got sick" while you had it?

Look here for eyemodule warranty/repair info.

Well, it was working fine before I took it... and now it's not. So logically it would seem to be something that I did... unless of course by some odd coincidence it did happen to 'get sick' while I had it... and it does act the same on both Visors. I also tried a soft reset, that didn't help. Hrmm.

Red face it happened to me...2x

All I can tell you is that I have returned 2 of them. Because of the same thing. Call them and they will tell you how to return it for a new one. Also you might want to try a hard reset. After you do a FULL backup!!!

Good luck...

Lightbulb

Unfortunately, My eyemodule started having the same or similar trouble about two days after I first read this thread. I contacted eyemodule customer support, and they told me that this problem can be caused by overclocking software, and that if I'm running any I should disable it.

I had installed Hackmaster and a few hacks to try them out since the last time I used the Eyemodule, which made me suspect it from the start, but I'm not sure how much similarity this bears to an overclocking program. I did disable and delete hackmaster and all of the hacks but this didn't solve the problem. I plan to back my Visor up on my 8mb Flash and do a hard reset to see if this makes the problem go away when I have the time (in case I missed deleting something.) I'll keep you posted.
